Mark and Andi  live in the Scottish Highlands and have been practicing Reiki since 2000 and teaching since 2004. In 2020 they also became Karuna® Masters. Alongside his work as a Reiki healer Mark also works as a landscaper, tree surgeon, shamanic practitioner, artist and woodcarver and Andi   works as a birthkeeper or doula     and antenatal educator as well as a folk herbalist.

Way back when Andi   and    I were trying to work out how we could make the most of our Reiki work we decided a good way would be to provide workshops in Stress Management for the people who were out there already caring for others and helping communities. So we started a business to try and help the helper. Namely teachers and nurses and carers. In a shamanic dream around that time I saw that we should call it BLA and that this stood for Big Love Amigos or Broken Leaf Associates. At the time I had no idea that there was a direct link from Reiki back to Bon shamanism through the expansion of Buddhism and the Buddhist ethnic cleansing of the Bon tradition and then its appropriation in the Lotus Sutras. In fact like many Reiki healers I had never heard of Bon. Later we discovered we had named ourselves after the overarching term for the universal energies worked with and studied in Bon shamanism - Bla.
